CIP Reflection

After 16 weeks of CIP, I must say that I've relieved that the module is over, as I find myself terribly bad with IT-related matters. Nevertheless, I understand the intention of the school to implement this module, as the world gets ready to step into the digital information age.Initially, I though that the module would revolve around learning about computers and its parts. How misinformed I was. I'm glad there was much more to CIP that I thought.

The workshop on the 4 programmes, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash MX, Microsoft Word, and Powerpoint was useful, especially for students like me without prior knowledge on these programmes. Given the time constraint, we only learnt the basics of them, but I believe that this 1st foray into such programmes have whetted the appetites of those who want to learn more about them. Personally, I enjoyed the workshops on Dreamweaver most, as it is something I have always wondered about. Learning it would enable me to have a personal website of my own one day.

After BCA from the previous semester, the PBL method of learning has taught me a different way of doing assignments, as compared to the previous ways of being spoonfed. It was indeed irritating initially, when our tutors don't seem to answer our queries directly. However, we understand that throught this way of learning, I tend to remember what I learnt better.

However, during every class, I find that 40 students abit too much, as there is a limit to the amount of attention out tutor can devote to the individual groups. Sometimes, when we need to ask a question, we may have to wait for a longer time. I do hope that it is possible for future classes to have 1 tutor to each class, so that students would be able to ask their questions with more ease.

The most memorable turn out of CIP is that I started blogging, apart from this blog. Blogging allows me to talk about things happening in my life, and I start to understand how blogging helps me communicate with more friends in one go. If not for CIP, I would not have started blogging at all. Thank you CIP.
